The Barley Mow is not a gastropub, and its not trying to be either. But we get great reviews for our food and people keep coming back and here’s why.. we serve huge portions of fresh and lovingly prepared food from our little kitchen. Its nothing too fancy, but its wholesome and all our meat and veg is locally sourced. Our butcher is Robin Maycock of Holloway, an award winning ‘master’ butcher, which means our meat is sustainable and traceable, which is increasingly important to our customers, who seemingly want to eat less meat, but meat of higher quality / welfare when they do.
Our menu is subject to availability, and changes day to day, but we are more than happy to cater for any special requirements….or even cook your favourite meal / pie by prior arrangement. We have daily specials, which will usually include at least one vegetarian option.
Its a small pub, with a small kitchen, and one cook, going as quickly as they can to make you a lovely meal…with this in mind we would respectfully ask customers to be patient, especially when its busy..needless to say it takes a reasonable amount of time to cook a meal from scratch.
