Real Ale

At the Barley Mow we take our commitment to real cask ale very, very seriously. This commitment was recognised when we were awarded 2011 CAMRA local ‘Pub of the Year’ for the Matlock and Derbyshire Dales area,  and entered into the 2012 CAMRA ‘Good Beer Guide’.

To quote the CAMRA web site:

“Real ale is a beer brewed from traditional ingredients (malted barley, hops, water and yeast), matured by secondary fermentation in the container from which it is dispensed, and served without the use of extraneous carbon dioxide.”

We have an ever changing selection of fine ales from all over the country, as well as locally produced beers, and we are acredited with the CAMRA Locale scheme  (20 miles or less from our pub).

We also have real cask ciders.
